Your human hair wig may become matted for several reasons:
Incorrect Wearing Method
If the wig is not properly worn, the hair on the wig may tangle or stick to glue
Wig Quality Issues
If the wig is made of poor-quality materials, especially synthetic fiber wigs, they are more prone to matting and once tangled, it's difficult to comb them out
Weather Factors
Adverse weather conditions, such as strong winds or intense sunlight, can also cause the wig to matt[2].
Lack of Combing and Maintenance
If you do not regularly comb the wig, or wear it while sleeping, rubbing against pillowcases, towels, sheets, etc., increases the likelihood of matting
Improper Washing and Drying
If the wig is improperly washed, or if a towel is used to rub it excessively during drying, it may also result in matting
Solutions
- Careful Combing of the Wig: Use a wide-tooth comb, start combing from the ends and gradually work upwards
- Regular Washing of the Wig: Use wig-specific shampoo, gently massage without vigorous rubbing, to reduce matting
- Use Conditioner: Apply conditioner to the matted areas to help untangle the hair and make it smoother and silkier
- Properly Dry the Wig: Wrap the wig gently with a towel and squeeze out the moisture, avoid using a hairdryer directly to prevent further matting
If none of these methods solve the problem, you may consider sending the wig to a professional wig shop for treatment
